Mzbel has responded to the intense backlash
following her recent interview where she spoke about her past relationship
with Maxwell Mawusi
Mensah, Nana Ama McBrown’s husband.
Mzbel has said Nana Ama
McBrown’s husband is her ‘leftover‘ and she would have married him
if she was interested in him.
Her comment angered social media users who
fired back with various harsh comments.
In the latest interview with David Mawuli on
Pulse Chat, Mzbel sought
to clear the allegations, but she rather added more damning comments.
According to her, Nana Ama McBrown was not a
virgin when Maxwell married her.
“Maxwell didn’t marry
Nana Ama McBrown as a virgin. And my [past] relationship with Maxwell was no secret
– we were everywhere. So, I would be a hypocrite to swerve questions on our
relationship. It won’t affect their marriage.”
On defending her stance, she said she cannot
grants interviews to be saying ‘no comment‘ on certain issues, so she
sees no wrong with what she said, adding people should rather read beyond
headlines on stories before commenting.
“I’ve watched my recent
interview over and over again to find fault but there was nothing that I said
wrong. I was asked about my current relationship with Maxwell, and I said we
are cool, close. Then I was asked about my past relationship, and I said we
were like each other’s toy. He was like that male friend you can lean on and
treat him like a teddy bear.” She said.
“Those attacking
me only read headlines without going through the full story. They are always
prepared to insult so the moment they see headlines, they insult. I don’t
understand.’ She added.
