"The Covid 19 and how we managed the situation in Ghana has not been the best and whatever we suffer as Ghanaians is our own doing.

When it broke out in other countries, we were supposed to do the needful, that is to first learn about the virus and the spread of it. Then in case one is infected, how to manage it. With this knowledge, government should have initiated a strong and a rigorous educational campaign. That time when churches and schools were still opened, we could have used that time to educate the populace.

We rather spread the fear and panic. We got everyone scared and the government had to take quick decisions with panic.

All the safety protocols put in place are excellent but we were not prepared for it. Therefore we in the film industry were caught unawares.

We still have producers who were selling cinema tickets when the restrictions came. They spent money making films, paid for cinema and suddenly everything is locked down. Some of us returned home after spending heavily on set, and the next day was lockdown. After paying cast and crew, we are locked down with empty pockets.

We didn't see it coming because all decisions were taken suddenly without preparing the minds of Ghanaians. We would have suspended shooting and used our money to stock up food for our family.

The directors and crew who got paid for jobs done before the lock down can buy few things though. Producers who were about to go on set before the lock down can put their Production fund into the essentials business.

But on the other side, this is the time Ghanaians who are idle at home need home entertainment. People are searching the internet for movie contents but there are good movies from Ghana that are locked down.

Therefore we plead with government to educate us on the next move before it is finally announced so we prepare for it.

All the same, we are working with our technical team over the internet to complete the movie KUKRO which tells the story of UBADO of the great KISUMBI tribe who disobeyed the gods who blessed him. It's not just the story of UBADO but the generation that comes 200yrs after him.

The film will be premiered this year in August. It will happen in the cinema or on VOD platforms depending on the Covid 19 situation at that time."

  1. My name is Tony Nayenga and I wrote and published my book entitled My American Dream using my pen name Nekemiah Muzazibwa. This book chronicles my life story from a Civil War in Uganda (1971-1979) to a life in exile with my family in Central Minnesota leading up to my MS that I’m now battling with. This a good read filled with action, love and adventure. I have many good reviews to support my opinion on my book and I believe any reader of any age would enjoy. My book is roughly 160 pages and is sold as hardcover, paperback and ebook and attached is the link for purchase or can be attained print on demand at any retailer including Amazon. I usually keep copies with me too and I can be reached at 6513877313 if you want a signed copy copy (when social distancing orders end, of course). I hope to make this a New York Times Bestseller or perhaps a movie. Thank you:
