The flag bearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John
Dramani Mahama challenged the outcome of the 2020 election as
announced by the Chairperson of the EC, Jean Adukwei Mensah on
the 9th day of December,2020. His Petition was dismissed by the Supreme Court on the 4th day of March,2021.
According to the court, the
former president and his legal team were not able to proof that no candidate in
the 2020 election got the required votes to be declared as the winner and also,
his petition was without merit.
After the dismissal of his
petition, he held a press conference at his office to address the media on the
rejection of his petition. According to him, he does not accept the ruling and
the decision of the court.
The former president after
filling the petition assured his supporters that even if he loose at the
Supreme Court,.he will secure Justice at the International Court of Justice.
According to him, the Justices cannot be persuaded to change the law.
