Last
week, Danish outfit HB Køge announced that Nigerien striker Victorien Adebayor
after just a few months at the club will join Ghana Premier League outfit Legon
Cities for the rest of the year.
But
according to multiple media publications in recent days, Victorien Adebayor has
ditched Legon Cities and will sign for Accra Hearts of Oak in the coming days.
How is it,
a source close to the player revealed that those reports are untrue and
misleading.
According
to the source, Adebayor who’s currently in Niger will land in Ghana tomorrow
evening to have his medicals and sign for Legon Cities ahead of the
commencement of the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
Adebayor
was a huge figure in the Premier league before leaving for Køge, he netted 23
goals in 27 games for Inter Allies during his two year stint with the Club and
was the league’s top scorer in the truncated League last season.
The
24-year-old will become the Legon Cities’ latest signing this window after Hans
Kwoffie, Richmond Antwi, Shamsu Alhassan ‘Diago’ and Justice Anane.
Legon
Cities currently sit 15th on the Ghana Premier League table with 19 points after
17 games. The Royals are hoping to finish in the top half of the table by the
end of the season.
