Bayern Munich are confident they will sign Borussia Dortmund
striker, Erling Haaland, next summer if he stays at their rivals for one more
season, according to SportsMail.
Haaland is wanted by all Europe’s major clubs including Chelsea,
Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Although Dortmund insist they won’t sell the 20-year-old, it
is unlikely to keep away admirers and offers in excess of £100m are expected
this summer.
Next
summer, however, Haaland will be available for about £65million due to a clause
in his contract. Bayern believe they can win the race for him under those
circumstances, as they seek the long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski,
who turns 33 in August.
The
prospect of losing another key player to their great rivals would be painful
for Dortmund fans, who have already seen Lewandowski, Mats Hummels and Mario
Gotze moving to Bayern while in their prime.
