It will be a big reunion when Belgian forward Hazard returns to Stamford Bridge to face his old team, Chelsea. Fans have now, however, brought out an old quote where he spoke on the possibility of playing against Chelsea.
Recall, Hazard
departed Chelsea in the summer of 2019 when Frank Lampard took over after he
spent 7 years playing for the Blues.
Hazard had already cemented his status as a legend of the
West London side after dazzling and shining for them over the years being their
star man.
The words he used in his departing statement when he wanted
to leave for Real Madrid two years ago are now being brought back again as
Chelsea set to lock horns with the Spanish giants in this year’s Champions
League semifinals.
According to Hazard in his departing statement then, he said
he hopes that Chelsea and Real Madrid are drawn against each other in the
Champions League, the following season and every other season so they can meet
again.
Although they did not meet the
next season this season, they’re meeting, and it is possible, if free from
injury by then Hazard will face the club where he played and dazzled for a long
time.
Fans have been talking and referring back to this quote since
Real Madrid and Chelsea have been paired for this year’s UCL semi finals and
fans can’t wait for the day to come.
The first leg of the game will be played on the 27th of April
with Real Madrid welcoming Chelsea to the Santiago Bernabeu.
