Chelsea
seem to have finally found their new midfield general this season. The club may
no longer need to go into the transfer market in the summer to buy any new
midfield players, as against popular opinion. Since German boss Thomas Tuchel
took over as coach at the Stamford Bridge club, Italian midfield man Jorginho
has excelled in his position in midfield, earning him a lot of credit from the
Chelsea fans.
The
Italian international who signed for the club from Napoli under former boss
Sarri has become the midfield general for the blues since the advent of Tuchel
at the bridge. Alongside the likes of N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho
has marshalled Chelsea to just two defeats in 19 games since Thomas Tuchel
became coach.
He
is now truly the most important midfield player at the club. The Italy midfield
man has made an impressive 43 appearances across all competitions for the blues
this season, scoring seven goals and assisting a further two, while only
receiving five bookings in the process. Chelsea fans all over the world will be
hoping that Jorginho’s form continues to improve as the club chase a champions
league spot as well as the final of the FA Cup.
