The long
serving defender could be using the door soon with Atletico Madrid waiting with
arms wide open
Chelsea could
soon be parting ways with their captain, after Spanish side, Atletico Madrid indicate
strong interest.
Azplicueta is a
long-serving member of the current squad following his 2012 move from Marseille
in a €7m move.
Addressed as a
complete player by his then-teammate, Juan Mata for his pace and composure
from the right back.
The Spaniard has maintained his place in the club despite several managerial switches with the most recent being Tuchel.
But the captain has maintained his place despite massive development from the closest alternative, Reece James.
According to sources, Thomas Tuchel is willing to let Azpilicueta leave to Madrid if he wishes to.
Atletico Madrid are seen as a very interesting side in acquiring the 31-year-old who could still feature for at least 5-years.
Currently, no official offer has been presented yet and the €10m – €15m valued defender still remains concentrated on Tuchel’s current project.
Chelsea are faced with a Uefa champions league tie tomorrow against Real Madrid.
