Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has admitted ahead of the Champions League clash with Real Madrid that ‘it’s not easy switching back to European football from Premier League’
The Chelsea goalkeeper first choice
noted that it had not been easy to switch atention back to domestic matterd for
the victory over Fulham on Saturday, with Champions
League semi-final second leg taking place in just 4days after
their 2-0 win against Fulham.
“The manager knows how difficult it is
to stay focused in the game against Fulham but we had a good start even though
they pressed us high. We stayed strong together and were clinical in the
counter-attack.
“To be honest, we won against Fulham and it was a hard game,
but now we must recover and be focused on the Real Madrid game.
It is a semi-final and we have won nothing. We need to be ready for this
battle.”
The goalkeeper who also
speak on Timo Werner and Kai Havertz form ahead of next season says he’s happy for both Werner and Havertz
has they showed their qualities on the pitch and he urge Chelsea fans to expect
100% best performance from both German players.
“Next Season, 100% we will see the best of Timo Wernee and
Havertz. Even this year, we have enjoyed their good levels of performance and
they are important for us” Mendy Said.
