Chelsea’s pre-season moved away from Cobham today with Thomas Tuchel and his first-team squad heading off to Ireland for a week-long training camp.
The Blues will
be based in Dublin until next Tuesday and plan to play a local side in a
friendly match on Thursday. But the opponent and location of the game has not
yet been disclosed.
Tuchel and
his coaching staff will be provided with further opportunities to evaluate the
28 players that started pre-season training last Monday while also having the
chance to bond with his squad away from the training pitch.
There are a
few star names currently involved with the first-team group, including
Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, a large number of returning loanees, and a
couple of academy graduates who are on the road back for long-term injuries.
Tuchel and the other coaching
staff gathered before heading off to the airport board their place to Ireland.
A training session is planned for this afternoon following the Blue’s arrival.
Other players that will be joining them include N’Golo Kante,
Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Antonio Rudiger and Mateo Kovacic who are
expected to report back for pre-season training this week after three weeks off
following their participation in the Euro 2020.
The group that has travelled to Dublin is made-up of the players
who have been training over the past week, minus Tino Anjorin and Ian Maatsen.

understood to have flown to Ireland is below.
