We're into the latter half of the international break and some of Chelsea's stars have returned to Cobham for training.
Thomas Tuchel allowed those without
commitments with their national side the opportunity to have a week off, to
recharge ahead of a busy December and January.
"Looking at the fixtures in December, January, it is a
lot," the Blues boss explained in an interview
with Chelsea's in-house media.
"The Club World Cup is coming, there have been
national breaks. So we decided here with the staff to give one week off
completely, to give everybody [not on international duty] the chance to recover
mentally and recharge the batteries.
"December will be tough, January will be tough,
and it will continue like this. No more breaks and we want to push the team to
the limit and that's why we use the time now to rest."
The likes of Ross
Barkley headed to Dubai for training, while Trevoh
Chalobah and Ruben
Loftus-Cheekput in
some work closer to home.
Now the group
is coming back together, and on Monday the preparation for Leicester City got
underway.
Romelu Lukaku on the training pitch
It was hard to ignore Romelu Lukakuon the Cobham training pitches on Monday.
The Belgian forward has teased his return throughout
the international break on social media, hinting that he is close following an
ankle injury suffered against Malmo at Stamford Bridge.
It appears the 28-year-old was training away from
the rest of the group but the former Inter Milan striker looked to be doing
some running in what is a good sign for his recovery.
Callum Hudson-Odoi the life and soul of training
It was hard to ignore Callum Hudson-Odoi's presence
in Chelsea's training footage.
The 21-year-old once again chose not to be involved
with England's under-21 set up in favour of earning his place with the national
team through his form for the Blues.
His activity at Cobham certainly looks beneficial so
far for the squad.
The youngster could be seen
pushing Chalobah all the way as he completed exercises in the gym, while the
duo also completed an in-depth handshake.
Hakim Ziyech's good spirits also seemed to be taken
advantage of by Hudson-Odoi. The pair strutted across the training field,
feigning nonchalance with exaggerated arm movements as they headed back inside.

Trevoh Chalobah's skill
Chalobah has already shown his ability in defence
and in front of goal this season. The Chelsea youngster who recently extended
his contract has scored against Crystal Palace and Southampton this season, and
has more than stepped up to the plate when involved in Tuchel's back three.
At Cobham on Monday he more than showed a delicate
touch.
As the ball came towards the 22-year-old he produced a Cruyff turn on the half
volley, and drove away with the ball.
Very classy.
