Chelsea board are looking for more options for Thomas Tuchel’s squad to be boosted and compete for the English Premier League next season.
Chelsea have
improved this season since the entrance of German tactician Thomas Tuchel who
has transformed the current players into one of the best squads in Europe.
However, additions may be required as a precaution in case of injuries and
inevitable circumstances.
According to
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo with a citation from Sport Witness, Chelsea are
interested in the services of Benfica defensive midfielder Julian Weigl. It
further reports that the club values their German machine at £30million and
that the Blues have already made contact with the player.
The 25-year-old
joined the Portuguese giants for £20million from Borussia Dortmund and they are
looking forward to getting £10million as a profit from the sale.
Previously
Chelsea had set their eyes on West Ham midfielder, Declan Rice, but the amount
set by West London rivals is at £80million. That is more than what Thomas
Tuchel is looking to spend on one player.
