Following the announcement that Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos will be departing the club this summer, there has been speculation that the Spaniard’s next stop could be Stamford Bridge.
According to multiple sources, the Blues
are keeping an eye on his status in the hopes of bringing him in to train with
Thomas Tuchel.
However, there
is strong interest in the highly decorated center back, with reports that some
of Europe’s top teams are keeping tabs on his status.
Another factor
that could prevent Chelsea from signing Ramos is former Blues goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois’ opinion.
Sergio Ramos’
former Real Madrid teammate Thibaut Courtois has warned his former captain
against joining Chelsea, believing that Sergio Ramos’ level is higher than
Chelsea’s.
He stated to
reporters, “You can tell that the level is high in training. Sergio
Ramos is now my daily reminder that he is the best center-back in the world.
[At Real Madrid], the standard is higher than at Chelsea.”
What do you
think about Courtois’s advice?
