A recent report from Spain has suggested that Chelsea, namely Roman Abramovich, is looking at the possibility of bringing Eden Hazard back to Stamford Bridge.
Hazard’s fall from
grace
Eden
Hazard would spend seven prosperous years plying his trade in the Premier
League with Chelsea.
During
that period the Belgian cemented himself as one of the Premier League’s most
feared attackers.
He would also help Chelsea secure two Premier League titles, an
FA Cup, a League Cup and two Europa Leagues. Hazard would also earn several
Ballon d’Or and The Best nominations during his stint with Chelsea.
However,
Hazard would then make a big-money move to Real Madrid in July of 2019.
Los Blancos were in need of a new Galactico following the
departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and the struggles of Gareth Bale.
And
at the time, Hazard, who scored 110 goals and assisted 92 for Chelsea, seemed
like a solid shout.
But since making the switch to the Spanish capital and, before
his latest injury picked up with Belgium last week, Hazard had, as per
transfermarkt, suffered 12 separate injuries whilst on the books of Los
Blancos.
Such
struggles have seen the winger miss a hefty 57 games for Real Madrid, a number
which is now only expected to increase in the coming weeks following his latest
blow.
Hazard back to
Chelsea?
Now
though, as mentioned above, Chelsea still seem somewhat interested in bringing
Hazard back to the Bridge.
As per
Spanish outlet El Nacional:
Chelsea
owner Roman Abramovich is increasingly convinced that Eden Hazard would once
again be one of the best players in the world if he wore blue at Stamford
Bridge again.
They add that there is speculation informal talks have started
regarding Hazard returning to London.
In
terms of a potential fee, it is suggested that Chelsea would not put more than
€40m on the table.
Eden
Hazard himself is reportedly keen on the deal, and a rumoured WhatsApp
Screenshot between him and Chelsea boss, Abramovic has made rounds. Here is the
